 |With debuggers I have found that dgbind is not providing the bind command with the correct effective userid of root to allow the bind to run (even tho the dgbind is executed with this euid) which is the reson it doesn't work. Appears this could be a solaris 9 issue with delegate..

Can I see the result of the following on your machine, maybe including
the error message from the dgbind?

 |11/03 13:23:58.51 [22153] 0+0: server_open(delegate,:99) BOUND

And isn't this useful to escape your problem ?
Why you must set the source port number of the data-connection to #20 ?

On 11/04/08(13:42) I wrote in <_A4202@delegate-en.ML_>
 |I should have said that in case of the bind for FTP data-connection
 |(by the PORT command), you can escape the problem of privileged port by
 |using a non-privileged port as follows:
 | SRCIF="*:2020:ftp-data-port"
 |This means using 2020 (instead of 20, the standard ftp-data port) for the
 |source port of data-connections.

I had ancient SunOS5.5 on Sparc CPU but the machine became broken. Also
I have SunOS5.10 (Solaris10/x86) on VMWare but there is no problem as the
results shown in the previous mail.
Also Sun is encouraging you to upgrade to Solaris 10 :p
