[DeleGate-En] NNTP proxy problem
14 Mar 2002 22:30:18 GMT "David Gersic" <pcudabdyi-bmw35hlnbtfr.ml@ml.delegate.org>

I'm running Delegate 7.0 as ported to OS/2 Warp4 (delegate7_0_0-os2.zip)
and cannot get the NNTP proxy working. emx0.9d has been installed, and
localhost has been configured.

Currently, I'm using the command line:

  delegated -P119 SERVER="nntp://131.156.1.47:-:from={*.niu.edu}" REMITTABLE="nntp" ADMIN=dgersic@niu.. DGROOT=d:\lbin\delegate -vv

to start the daemon. It initializes and seems to be running. The last
few lines of the screen log display are:

  03/14 16:10:46.00 [982] 0+0: [1] CMAP={proxy}relay{*}:{*}:{*}

after which, netstat -s shows that something is listening on the NNTP
port:

SOCK TYPE FOREIGN LOCAL FOREIGN STATE
                          PORT PORT HOST

like it should be. But, when I attempt to connect to it using
FreeAgent, there is no response. I also attempted to telnet to the
port, and got no response, so I don't think it's a problem in
FreeAgent. netstat -s never shows anything using the NNTP port,
regardles of whether I'm trying to connect to it or not.

After reading the archives of your mail / help, I also tried the
tcprelay to see if that would help. Command line:

  delegated -P119 SERVER="tcprelay://131.156.1.47:119" REMITTABLE="nntp" ADMIN=dgersic@niu.. DGROOT=d:\lbin\delegate -vv

to start the daemon produced pretty much the same results. The daemon
loads and claims to have initialized, but won't respond to attempts to
use it.

Help?
