[DeleGate-En] Issue with INETD in delegate 9.1.1
20 Apr 2006 00:05:37 GMT Keith Sparacin <psufabdyi.ml@ml.delegate.org>

I am using INETD lines in delegate 8.9.5 on Solaris 8. I am trying to
upgrade delegate because 8.9.5 core dumps after adding a large number
of INETD lines to the delegate.conf file. I hoping this issue will be
fixed in delegate 9.1.1. The following delegate.conf file works in
8.9.5 but does not work in 9.1.1. Here is the delegate.conf file:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
// delegate.conf:

PIDFILE=delegated.pid
ADMIN=root
LOGFILE=/var/log/delegated
PERMIT=*:*:*
REMITTABLE="*"

INETD="157.170.133.115:100 stream tcp nowait delegate - SERVER=tcprelay://157.170.139.188:22/"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Works with delegate 8.9.5

The above delegate.conf file works with 8.9.5. When I connect to port
100, delegate connects to port 22 on the remote server. For example:

$ telnet 157.170.133.115 100
Connected to 157.170.133.115.
Escape character is '^]'.
SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.9p1
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fails with delegate 9.1.1

The same delegate.conf file does not work with 9.1.1. When I connect
to port 100, delegate does not connect me to port 22 on the remove
server and I never get the ssh protocol prompt.

tilde$ telnet 157.170.133.115 100
Connected to 157.170.133.115.
Escape character is '^]'.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Works with delegate 9.1.1 on command line

If I don't use the INETD line and run it from the command line it
works.

$ sudo delegated -P157.170.133.115:100 SERVER=tcprelay://157.170.139.188:22/
$ <DeleGate/9.1.1> [27066] -P157.170.133.115:100 READY

$ telnet 157.170.133.115 100
Connected to 157.170.133.115.
Escape character is '^]'.
SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.9p1
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you.

  Keith
